Farmingdale, United States - November 20, 2023 /PressCable/ —
The newly announced month-long program has a transitional purpose for individuals who recently have been discharged from clinical care and are in need of guidance and support as they enter everyday life sober. The program includes group and individual sessions led by New Jersey Certified Peer Recovery Specialists (CPRS) and teaches participants essential life skills, setting them up for long-term sobriety.

Data from the National Institute on Drug Abuse suggests that 40-60% of those in recovery relapse in the first year, underlining the difficulties of remaining sober in normal environments despite being free of withdrawal symptoms. By offering professional support early in the journey to a life free of substances, CFC Recovery hopes to address the mental aspects of addiction and recovery with its latest program.
According to American Addiction Centers, relapse can be divided into three steps: emotional, mental, and physical. In an article, the organization explains that negative feelings can make an individual spiral into a state of mental relapse where they romanticize their addiction, leading them to start using again. It highlights the importance of a positive support system that can help the person get out of this negative mindset.
The IPRP at CFC Recovery is a four-week-long peer-based program that runs from Monday to Thursday. It includes several themes that regard sobriety, for example, recovery planning. This gives clients one-on-one time with a coach to create a Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP) that helps them track their progress. The program also focuses on emotionally soothing techniques, like meditation and emotional awareness, that give participants the confidence to handle stress without feeling the need to turn to old habits.
CFC's recovery community, Loud N Clear, fosters a supportive environment and offers the opportunity to interact with people in similar situations. The group hosts self-help meetings every week and also arranges activities, community givebacks, and speaker events that give those in recovery a positive context to thrive without substances present.
