London, United Kingdom Dec 19, 2022 (Issuewire.com) - The film follows the extraordinary lives of Freddie Hunt, Son of iconic racing driver James Hunt, and Mathias Lauda, Son of the legendary Niki Lauda, as they reignite the racing rivalry one generation on.
The DVD and digital film are released today (19th December) just in time to make the ultimate Christmas gift for any motorsport fan. The film sees the two sons race head to head and reignite the famous motorsport battles their fathers had. More than this, however, filmmakers visited these iconic motorsport families and also secured exclusive never-before-seen interviews between Freddie Hunt and Niki Lauda himself.
Director Charlotte Fantelli says 'everyone who knows anything about motorsport knows the Hunt Vs Lauda story. For me as a filmmaker and passionate motorsport fan, being able to immerse myself in this story and live and breathe alongside these two families, was a dream come true. The moment I was approached with the idea I knew I had to be the one to bring it to life.'
The concept was born in 2014 when Jose Pottamkulam Thomas brought Freddie Hunt and Mathias Lauda together in the MRF series. He knew he had something special when the boys showed firsthand the same racing spirit as their two famous fathers. His dream to 'recreate motorsport history' was born and so was the film.
With help from Jo Matthews (Annies Flix), the pair involved Branded Studios, known for their motorsport and 'male skewing' documentaries, and the film was finally realised.
Charlotte Fantelli notable for her motorsport docs 'Journey to Le Mans' and 'Gentleman Driver' lead her Branded Studios team as they captured this wonderful motorsport adventure.
