Glen Rose Full-Time Certified Chaplains For Safe & Confidential Spaces Announced

The National School Chaplain Association (NSCA) (405-831-3299) is reaching out to school leaders in Glen Rose and Somervell County, Texas who want to improve student outcomes and school culture.

Following the passing of the Chaplain Bill this June in the State of Texas, public and private schools alike can now welcome a school chaplain into their school community. As such, the National School Chaplain Association, the governing body for certified chaplains in the United States, is pleased to now be offering their services - they can now install a full-time accredited and certified chaplain in any elementary, middle or high school in Glen Rose and Somervell County.

Most chaplains who study with and are certified by the National School Chaplain Association are former teachers or have substantial ministry experience, including working as a chaplain in another context like healthcare. Upon completion of their studies with the NSCA, they will have developed a strong skill set that will allow them to provide spiritual guidance to students as well as broader psychosocial support.

When a full-time chaplain is installed in a school, their main goal is to create a safe and confidential space in which students can be themselves and express their fears, doubts, anxieties, concerns, and more. As the National School Chaplain Association explained, school chaplains are not intended to replace any existing welfare services on offer but rather to work in harmony with them, and to grow a culture of communication, openness, and trust.
