She has coordinated projects to teach healthy living and how to prevent chronic diseases.
Continuing her medical education, Dr. Abunar graduated with her Medical Degree from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine in 2019. She then went on to complete her residency at UConn Health, where she was awarded the Dorfman Patient Care Award in 2023.
Obstetrics and gynecology (OB-GYN) is the medical specialty that encompasses the two subspecialties of obstetrics (covering pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period) and gynecology (covering the health of the female reproductive system - vagina, uterus, ovaries, and breasts).
