New York City votes to ban Central Park horse-drawn carriages after decades of debate

New York's city council voted Thursday in favor of a measure to ban horse-drawn carriages in Central Park, a tourist attraction that has been controversial for years. Mayor Zohran Mamdani is expected to sign the ban into law which would go into effect starting in June 2028
