HC Extends Its U.S. Private Cloud Servers Free Tier To Europe

HostColor.com (HC), announced the extension of its Business Private Cloud Server services to Europe. Last month the company made available a “Private Cloud Free Tier” to its U.S. customers.

South Bend, Indiana, United States - April 15, 2019 /MarketersMedia/ —

HC has started provisioning Business Private Cloud Servers on its "Free Tier Private Cloud" from five European locations in Amsterdam, Copenhagen, London, Vienna and Sofia.

The "Free Tier" is a Private Cloud service that comes with 1 CPU Core, 1 GB vRAM, 10 GB SATA Storage and 40 GB monthly data transfer quota on 100 Mbps Internet Connection. The limits of the HC "Free Tier" are specified in the service specification published on the HC Private Cloud Servers section and there are no hidden terms or restrictions.

Private Clouds are computing instances configured on demand to support certain workloads that the organizations need to move to "The Cloud". The Private Cloud Servers are not visible over the public Internet. They are secure computing instances created for internal use and the organizations operate them behind firewalls and access them through virtual private networks.

Host Color says in its news release that the "Free Private Cloud Tier guarantees that business owners who move certain workloads to their own Private Clouds will have full control over the resource usage and their monthly service bills” as overcharging for computing resource usage and especially for data transfer is a growing concern for those who use the so-called "major clouds".

"Unlike the similar services offered by the major clouds, the Host Color's "Free Private Cloud Tier" does not set limits on the number of hours that anyone can use the service in a calendar month", says Host Color’s CEO Dimitar Avramov. He adds that HC doesn’t impose limits on the number of computing tasks and operations which can be executed. "On the AWS free tier, for example there are "20,000 times where the user can you retrieve a file from Amazon S3” and the client is charged after that. On HC Cloud, there are no such limits", explains the Host Color’s CEO.

The European Cloud services are provisioned and hosted on top of the HostColorEurope.com (HCE) Cloud Computing infrastructure built with VMware ESXi - arguably the world's most reliable virtualization technology, used by the large financial institutions and organizations that need to have an IT infrastructure with 100% availability. The HC clients' data is hosted and well-protected on a enterprise grade Fault-Tolerant Storage Area Network (SAN), which features built-in protection and safeguards the information under any circumstances without performance impact.

HC has recently launched a Managed Public and Private Cloud Servers. The Managed services include initial setup, installation of Windows or Linux based operating system, antivirus and anti-spam protection, configuration of the Public or a Private Cloud environment to the client’s custom settings, regular maintenance and updates of all software programs and applications, 24/7/365 resource monitoring, security updates, reboots, Cloud instance recovery and data backups.

US long-term mortgage rates up for 4th week; 30-year 4.20%

Apr 25, 2019

WASHINGTON — U.S. long-term mortgage rates rose this week for the fourth straight week, though they remain historically low as a spur to home sales in the spring buying season. Mortgage buyer Freddie Mac said Thursday the average rate on the 30-year, fixed-rate mortgage increased to 4.20% from 4.17% last week. By contrast, a year ago the benchmark rate stood at 4.58%. The average rate for 15-year, fixed-rate home loans rose this week to 3.64% from 3.62% last week. After peaking at nearly 5% in November, long-term rates started trending downward, helping to boost home sales after a rocky 2018....

Nadal beats Ferrer to reach Barcelona Open quarterfinals

Apr 25, 2019

BARCELONA, Spain — Rafael Nadal looked closer to his clay-court best again as he beat David Ferrer 6-3, 6-3 on Thursday to reach the quarterfinals of the Barcelona Open. The 11-time Barcelona champion saved four of five break points and broke four times in what could have been his last meeting with Ferrer, who is retiring after the Madrid Open next month. It was a sign of improvement for Nadal, who lost in the semifinals in Monte Carlo last week and then needed three sets to get past Leonard Mayer in his opening match in Barcelona. "This match was important...

Brazil's congress receives indigenous leaders amid protests

Apr 25, 2019

BRASILIA, Brazil — Brazil's lower house is receiving indigenous leaders to discuss land rights and the Chamber of Deputies' role in the protection of the environment. Discussions held Thursday were occurring on the sidelines of an annual three-day protest known as the Free Land Encampment in Brasilia, the capital city. On his first day in office, President Jair Bolsonaro transferred the authority to designate indigenous land and to grant environmental licenses for businesses on indigenous reserves from the government's indigenous affairs agency to the agriculture ministry. During his campaign, Bolsonaro said he would not grant "one more centimeter" of land...

Nepal quake-hit villages struggle with reconstruction

Apr 25, 2019

KATHMANDU, Nepal — Four years since a catastrophic earthquake destroyed much of central and eastern Nepal, a remote Himalayan area is still reeling with what looks like irreparable damage. Nestled in the foothills of Langtang Mountain, Helambu has become a textbook example of how not to rebuild after a disaster. Unattractive tiny huts made of blue corrugated iron sheets dot the foothills around the ruins of houses reduced to rubble in the earthquake. "It was not how I wanted to rebuild. But it was all I managed to construct with my savings and the money provided by the government," said...

Biden hires strategist Symone Sanders, adds diversity to bid

Apr 25, 2019

WASHINGTON — Joe Biden has hired Symone Sanders, a prominent African American political strategist, as a senior adviser to his newly launched presidential campaign. The move adds a younger, diverse voice to Biden's cadre of top advisers, which has been dominated by older white men. It suggests Biden is seeking to broaden his appeal to a new generation of Democrats. Sanders, 29, rose to prominence during the 2016 campaign as press secretary for Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders. She then became a high-profile political analyst on CNN and is likely to be a forceful Biden defender on television. Democratic strategist and...
